The Role

We’re hiring Associate Forward Deployed Engineers to support data ingestion and customer data operations.

You’ll work alongside FDEs to execute scoped technical workflows: preparing and transferring data, monitoring ingestion jobs, validating results, communicating status, and escalating issues.

This is a junior, hourly role for engineers who are technical, reliable, and comfortable operating with clear processes and guidance.

What You’ll Do

1. Size, prepare, and transfer customer datasets.
2. Execute and monitor data ingestion workflows.
3. Validate transfer results and identify discrepancies.
4. Communicate status, blockers, and follow-ups with customers and internal teams.
5. Maintain clear handoffs and operational documentation.
6. Identify gaps or unexpected behavior and escalate when needed.
7. Handle sensitive customer data with care.

What We’re Looking For

1. Strong ownership and attention to detail.
2. Technical aptitude and ability to learn new tools quickly.
3. Familiarity with Python, SQL, APIs, or data workflows.
4. Clear, concise written communication.
5. Ability to follow runbooks and recognize when something falls outside them.
6. Good judgment around customer data and production systems.
7. Reliability and availability for scoped, hourly work.

Nice to Have

1. Experience working with large datasets or data pipelines.
2. Familiarity with cloud storage and data transfer workflows.
3. Experience with command-line tools, Git, or Linux environments.
4. Exposure to ETL, data ingestion, validation, or QA workflows.
5. Experience debugging technical issues using logs and monitoring tools.
6. Familiarity with common data formats such as JSON, CSV, or Parquet.
7. Experience in a startup, technical operations, implementation, or customer-facing engineering environment.
