Job Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Construction Bookkeeper to support a construction-focused client. This role requires hands-on experience with Buildertrend, construction bookkeeping, and vendor/subcontractor billing. The ideal candidate is trustworthy, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and can work independently while collaborating effectively with a small team.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the entry and processing of vendor bills, invoices, receipts, and payments through Buildertrend
Review invoices and billing documents for accuracy, completeness, and proper project allocation
Investigate and resolve discrepancies between Purchase Orders and vendor/subcontractor billings
Assist with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processing, including preparing vendor and subcontractor payments
Maintain accurate vendor records, including W-9s, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), and contact information
Communicate with vendors, subcontractors, project managers, and internal staff regarding invoices, receipts, billing issues, and payment status
Reconcile vendor accounts and resolve outstanding balances or discrepancies
Assist the existing accountant with payroll preparation and month-end closing activities
Perform general administrative and financial tasks as needed within Buildertrend and other company systems

Qualifications

Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience in the construction industry
Buildertrend experience is required, including hands-on experience entering and managing financial information within the platform
Working knowledge of QuickBooks and how it integrates with Buildertrend
Proficient in Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365, particularly Excel
Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
Extremely organized and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Honest, trustworthy, and able to handle financial information with discretion
Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision
Strong communication and problem-solving skills
Able to work effectively within a small team and take ownership of the role
Spanish bilingual skills are a plus, but Buildertrend experience and software knowledge are the priority
