DevOps Automation Engineer

We are seeking a DevOps Automation Engineer to support a public sector digital transformation initiative. This role focuses on ensuring quality in the delivery of digital services across multiple modernization projects. The DevOps Specialist will work as part of cross-functional teams led by product owners, participating in field research, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and execution. The ideal candidate will contribute to the design and implementation of automation, infrastructure, and operational practices that enable efficient, effective, and affordable service delivery.

This position requires someone who can design and implement automation for deployment, maintenance, and operations to support digital service delivery across two to three concurrent projects. The role involves creating test plans, test cases, and automated test suites; managing production environments including configuration, credentials, and database operations; designing CI/CD pipelines and deployment templates; implementing monitoring and telemetry tools for application observability; and supporting teams in adopting DevOps best practices. The DevOps Specialist will also work to remove manual processes through automation and AI solutions, and provide operations support for integration testing, security scans, performance testing, and limited availability launches.

Qualifications

• 3+ years - research, analysis and problem solving
• 3+ years - documenting issues, solutions, and procedures
• 2+ years - leveraging generative AI and agentic tooling to produce executive-grade outputs, including prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation, and critical evaluation of AI outputs
• 3+ years - access tools such as SSH Clients and Remote Desktop
• 3+ years - basic security awareness including secrets management and principle of least privilege
• 3+ years - cloud platforms including AWS, GCP, or Azure with focus on deploying scalable solutions and optimizing data pipelines
• 1+ years - networking tools such as DNS lookups, Trace Routes and load balancing
• 4+ years - command line interfaces for command execution and file system traversal
• 4+ years - scripting tools such as PowerShell

Nice to Have

• 2+ years - DevOps Specialist supporting continuous delivery of custom-built solutions
• 2+ years - designing and deploying hybrid cloud applications using Red Hat OpenShift
• 2+ years - Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform
• 3+ years - VS Code or Visual Studio 2019 or higher
• 3+ years - CI/CD pipelines in a large-scale enterprise environment
